Before I take on a client, I’m asked to do either a zoom call or a telephone call to see if the business relationship has potential. This is a good way to see if you are the right fit for a client and if they are a right fit for you.
A Discovery call usually lasts one hour. And I pack in the information like it’s my job. Today, I redirected my newest client to my brand-new website that I created so that the client could see what other services I offer. Website design being one of them, hint, hint.
I ask hard questions not just the fluffy ones like some people do. I ask about the roadblocks in their way currently, who they are most likely to serve and why. This gets me insight to what the client will need from me in the future. This particular client made me feel super calm. The clients words of “I’m taking this all in,” made me feel all the more important and I felt I was making a difference in his world.
